CAS July 11 - Matthew Mayfield

The heat is kickin’ into full swing this summer, and what better way to spend a hot and sticky Tennessee night than with good tunes in an intimate setting at a Cause A Scene house show? Start your weekend early this Thursday, with a stripped down set of music from three talented and seasoned musicians. Matthew Mayfield has been playing rock n’ roll music since he received his first guitar at age 11, and through the years his music has gone through several realms of metamorphosis. resulting in his most recent EP, Irons In The Fire. The product of the record reflects a culmination of anthemic rock and stripped down lyricism and presents the Birmingham, AL native in his most raw of forms. Duquette Johnston will also be filling the evening with heavenly melodies. This fellow Alabamian’s americana/soul sound has shared the stage with the likes of Pavement, Foo Fighters and The Strokes. Johnston released his most recent album, Rabbit Runs A Destiny, just this passed May. Filling out the evening’s set is Nashville transplant Jameson Elder. His EP, The Home I’ve Never Known, is a well crafted blend of acoustic ballads and roots rock.

This wonderful night of music will be kicking off at 5008 Longstreet Drive at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30. Get your tickets here for $12.
